Cooling Water Treatment Chemicals — VCYCLETECH

Cooling Water Treatment Chemicals

Cooling water treatment keeps recirculating cooling-tower water free of scale, corrosion and microbiological fouling so the system holds its heat-transfer efficiency and equipment life. A complete program runs four jobs in parallel — scale control, corrosion control, microbial control and dispersion — dosed to the system's cycles of concentration and water chemistry. VCYCLETECH manufactures the full chemical set below.

Recommended chemicals

Scale & deposit control

PBTC, HEDP, ATMP, AA/AMPS copolymer, PAAS dispersant, HPMA

Corrosion control

HPAA, PCA; for copper/yellow metals Tolyltriazole (TTA) and Benzotriazole (BTA)

Microbiological control (biocides)

Oxidizing TCCA / SDIC; non-oxidizing Isothiazolinones (CMIT/MIT), DBNPA, THPS, Glutaraldehyde, BKC

Dosing guidance

  • Scale/corrosion inhibitor (organic phosphonate + copolymer blend): typically 5–20 ppm as product, set by hardness and cycles of concentration.
  • Copper corrosion inhibitor (TTA/BTA): 1–3 ppm where yellow metals are present.
  • Oxidizing biocide: maintain 0.2–0.5 ppm free residual; alternate with a non-oxidizing biocide shock to control biofilm.

Dosages are typical starting points — we tailor them to your water analysis. Send your parameters for an optimized program.

Frequently asked questions

What chemicals are used in cooling tower water treatment?

A typical cooling water program uses a scale inhibitor (organic phosphonate such as PBTC/HEDP/ATMP), a dispersant (acrylic/AA-AMPS copolymer), a corrosion inhibitor (HPAA/PCA plus TTA/BTA for copper), and biocides (oxidizing TCCA/SDIC alternated with non-oxidizing isothiazolinones, DBNPA, THPS or glutaraldehyde).

How do you prevent scale in a cooling tower?

Dose a threshold scale inhibitor (PBTC, HEDP or ATMP) with a polymer dispersant to keep calcium carbonate and phosphate from depositing, and control cycles of concentration with blowdown. VCYCLETECH supplies all of these grades.

Which biocide is best for cooling water?

Use an oxidizing biocide (TCCA/SDIC) for routine residual control, alternated with a non-oxidizing biocide (isothiazolinones, DBNPA, THPS or glutaraldehyde) to break down biofilm. Alternating biocides prevents microbial resistance.

Do you provide dosing and a COA?

Yes — we provide dosing guidance for your water chemistry, a Certificate of Analysis with every batch, and OEM/ODM packaging. Contact us for a tailored cooling water program.
