PAAS 40% — 155 Tons Loaded into 7 Containers
TL;DR This shipment is 155 tons of PAAS 40% — polyacrylic acid sodium salt (sodium polyacrylate, CAS 9003-04-7) — loaded into 7 full containers at the VCYCLETECH factory. PAAS is a non-toxic, water-soluble polymer used as a scale inhibitor and dispersant in circulating cooling water: it disperses calcium carbonate, phosphate and sulfate microcrystals so they cannot form hard scale. Typical cooling-water dose is 2–15 mg/L, and it is normally supplied as a 40% solution.
What you'll see in this video
- 155 tons of PAAS 40% staged and loaded at the factory.
- 7 full container loads (FCL) being filled for a single bulk order.
- Factory-direct dispatch — every batch shipped with a Certificate of Analysis (COA).
What PAAS is
PAAS (polyacrylic acid sodium salt), also called sodium polyacrylate, is the sodium salt of polyacrylic acid, CAS 9003-04-7. It is an innoxious, water-soluble high-molecular polymer that works as both a scale inhibitor and a dispersant: it keeps the microcrystals of calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate suspended and dispersed so they never grow into adherent scale. That dual action is why it is a staple polycarboxylic antiscalant and dispersant.
Dosage
In circulating cooling water, PAAS used on its own is typically dosed at 2–15 mg/L. Where it serves mainly as a dispersant, set the dose by test — it depends on the water chemistry and the equipment metallurgy. PAAS is also commonly blended with phosphonates such as ATMP or HEDP in formulated cooling-water programmes. Dose on the active basis stated in the batch COA — see what an antiscalant does.
PAAS vs PAA — which form to buy
The two are the same polymer in different forms. PAA is the acid, supplied around 30 / 50 / 63% at low pH; PAAS is the neutralised sodium salt, usually 40%, near-neutral and therefore easier and less corrosive to store, pump and dose. Performance is comparable — choose on pH compatibility, handling and your dosing system.
| Property | PAAS (sodium salt) | PAA (acid) |
|---|---|---|
| CAS | 9003-04-7 | 9003-01-4 |
| Usual concentration | 40% (also 30%, 45%) | 30%, 50%, 63% |
| pH | Near-neutral | Strongly acidic |
| Handling | Easier, less corrosive | Acid-resistant equipment needed |
| Function | Scale inhibitor + dispersant | Scale inhibitor + dispersant |
| Best when | Neutral/alkaline dosing, simpler handling | Acid form suits the formulation |

Applications
PAAS is dosed in circulating cooling water at power plants, iron & steel works, fertilizer plants, refineries and air-conditioning systems, and is used as a dispersant in industrial process water. For phosphorus-free programmes see phosphorus-free green antiscalants; the related acrylic homopolymer WT-1000 covers dispersant-heavy duty.
Buying PAAS in bulk
VCYCLETECH is a China-based PAAS manufacturer and supplier shipping full container loads worldwide — as in this 155-ton, 7-container dispatch. Every batch carries a COA, the plant is ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certified, and OEM / ODM packaging is available. See our quality & certifications.
Frequently asked questions
What is PAAS (polyacrylic acid sodium salt)?
PAAS is the sodium salt of polyacrylic acid (CAS 9003-04-7), a non-toxic, water-soluble polymer used as a scale inhibitor and dispersant. It disperses calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and calcium sulfate microcrystals, which is why it is dosed in circulating cooling water at power plants, steel mills, fertilizer and refinery plants and air-conditioning systems.
What is the PAAS dosage for cooling water?
Used on its own in circulating cooling water, PAAS is typically dosed at 2–15 mg/L. When it is used mainly as a dispersant the dose should be set by test, because it depends on the water chemistry and the equipment materials. Always dose on the active basis stated in the batch COA.
What is the difference between PAAS and PAA?
PAA is polyacrylic acid — the acid form, supplied at around 30%, 50% or 63%, with a low pH. PAAS is the neutralised sodium salt of the same polymer, commonly supplied at 40%, with a near-neutral pH that is easier and less corrosive to handle and store. Scale-inhibiting and dispersing performance is comparable; choose on pH, handling and the dosing system.
What concentration is PAAS supplied at?
PAAS is most commonly supplied as a 40% aqueous solution, with 30% and 45% also available. The shipment in this video is 155 tons of PAAS 40% loaded into 7 containers. Confirm the exact active content on the batch Certificate of Analysis and dose accordingly.
Can VCYCLETECH supply PAAS in bulk / full container loads?
Yes. VCYCLETECH manufactures PAAS (polyacrylic acid sodium salt) in China and ships it worldwide in bulk — this video shows 155 tons of PAAS 40% loading into 7 full container loads. Every batch carries a Certificate of Analysis, the plant is ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 certified, and OEM/ODM is available. Email sales@vcycletech.com.
