Properties:

Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride (OTAC) is soluble in water, ethanol, and methanol and is compatible with cationic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants. It has good chemical stability when exposed to heat, light, pressure, and acid or alkaline solutions. OTAC also possesses excellent permeability, softness, emulsification, and anti-electrostatic and bactericidal properties.

Usage:

Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride (OTAC) can be used as a fabric softener, raw material for asphalt emulsion and hair conditioner, organic bentonite modifier, protein coagulant, or flocculant in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, antistatic agent of textile fiber and hair adjustment agent. Additionally, OTAC can be used as an emulsifier of asphalt, silicone oil, and rubber, as bacteria for cycling cooling water, and disinfectant.

Package and Storage:

Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride (OTAC) should be stored in a dry, cool, and ventilated place away from fire and heat sources. It should be sealed and packed to prevent moisture and foreign matter contamination. 200L plastic drum,IBC(1000L),customers’ requirement. Storage for one year in a shady room and dry place.

Faqs about  OTAC:

What is Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride (OTAC)?
Octadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride (OTAC) is a quaternary ammonium compound used in water treatment chemicals. It is a cationic surfactant, meaning it carries both a positive and negative charge which makes the compound highly soluble in water. This allows it to be used as an effective dispersant, emulsifier, and antibacterial agent.

What are the benefits of OTAC for water treatment?
OTAC has many benefits when used as a water treatment chemical. It can aid in the dispersion of contaminants, helping to break them down into smaller particles that can be more easily filtered out. Additionally, OTAC acts as an antibacterial agent, which helps to reduce levels of bacteria and other microorganisms in drinking water supplies. Finally, it functions as an emulsifier, allowing for easier mixing of different substances together.

Is OTAC safe for human consumption?
Yes, OTAC is considered to be safe for human consumption when used at specific concentrations and under specific conditions.

How does OTAC work?
OTAC works by forming strong bonds with bacteria cells that contain positively charged ions such as calcium and magnesium. This causes the bacteria cells to become disrupted which then makes them easier to filter out from the water supply. Additionally, due to its cationic charge, the compound also binds with colloids present in water supplies, so they, too, can be filtered more easily.
